Retired soldier Alex Easton returns in a horrifying new adventure.

Creepy

Alex Eaton is back.

After their ordeal at the Usher Mansion in the last book, they took a brief sojourn in Paris, and at the start of this instalment, they're returning to his native Gallacia to spend some time at their family's hunting lodge. They and Angus have also invited Miss Potter to join them and study mushrooms.

Creepy stuff ensues.

And it IS pretty creepy. Not really too scary, and it's a slow burn, but once it got going, I was hooked. It's also nice to see a non-binary main character whose gender identity is there, but not a major part of the plot. It just feels... normal. It's nice. :-)
