Lil' bookworm who has a hard time reading. I'm 32, non-binary (they/them) and you can find me at @tellington@eldritch.cafe. I like almost every genre except horror and mystery/crime novels. I read (and write) in French and English.

A bit too self-helpy (okay, it's a self-help book) but interesting (both in the sense it had interesting information and it was presented in an interesting way).

I just learned the origin of future!CharacterName (or other characteristics like fem!Character, child!Character...) in fandoms! The author explains it's from the way old email were routed, like bob!mathsdepartment!MIT or something like that (I'm listening to the audiobook so I haven't seen it written but that's my understanding of it). I never knew, and I've used characteristic!Name for a long time now!

So I'm at like chapter 5 and I already get how it inspired Torrey Peters for Detransition, Baby, the style and vibe are quite similar!

Someone here said that Becky Chambers' Monk & Robot series was a fictional version of this book, so I'm giving it a try! Very interesting, even though I'm not always convinced by the author's points.
